CSVmaker – streamline your LCA modeling in SimaPro
Entering large amounts of life cycle data into SimaPro by hand is both time-consuming and error-prone. With CSVmaker, you make the work faster, smoother, and more scalable.
CSVmaker is an Excel macro that converts life cycle inventories (LCI data) from Excel into .CSV files that can be imported directly into SimaPro. The tool is particularly useful when working with larger systems, complex models, or handling data from many suppliers – for example in Scope 3 analyses.
You simply structure your data in a predefined Excel format and run the macro with one click. CSVmaker automatically creates both an import file for SimaPro and a control file. You can also add metadata, parameters, and uncertainty values in the process, making the model even more flexible and transparent.
When should I use CSVmaker?
